Bath ,ME : Bath woman charged with OUI after fleeing the scene of a crash on Sunday evening ,May 30th 2015

A Bath woman was charged with operating under the influence Sunday evening after fleeing the scene of a crash, prompting a three-hour search by officers and a police dog.

Brittany Kaler, 24, was found walking on Ridge Road at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday — three hours after allegedly driving into bushes on North Bath Road and abandoning the car, according to Bath police Lt. Robert Savary.

Bath police Officer Michelle Small and her police dog searched for three hours before finding Kaler.

When she was located, Kaler allegedly still showed signs of impairment and police concluded she was likely under the influence at the time of the crash, Savary said.

Kaler was arrested and released from the Bath police station. She is scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court on July 21.
