Maitland, FL : Woman crashes car into Maitland apartment complex on U.S. Highway 17-92 near Lake Avenue on Monday morning, November 17, 2014

A woman escaped serious injury after her car left the road and hit an apartment building in Maitland. The car went over bushes, hit a bike rack and crashed into The Village at Lake Lily apartment building along U.S. Highway 17-92 near Lake Avenue on Monday morning. The car narrowly missed slamming into the leasing office of the building. Instead, it crashed into a set of iron gates and benches. Maitland police said the 65-year-old driver claimed she "blacked out" in the moments leading up to the crash. She suffered a minor injury from the airbag and was treated at the scene.
