Monett, MO : Shell Knob teen injured, arrested after wreck west of Golden on Saturday, December 31, 2016
A Shell Knob teenager was injured and subsequently arrested following a wreck on Saturday at 7 a.m. on Highway 83, two miles west of Golden.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, River Phelps, 18, of Shell Knob, was driving a 2007 GMC Yukon northbound when his vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign, ran off the roadway, became airborne and came to rest in a field.
Phelps suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. He was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
At 7:30 a.m., Phelps was arrested by the Highway Patrol for driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a stop sign and no seatbelt.
