A Richland man was killed in head-on collision Monday morning in Westmoreland County.

According to the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office, Bruce M. Miklavic, Sr., 59, was riding a 2016 BMW motorcycle with one passenger on State Route 981 at 11:25 a.m. when an oncoming 2002 Volkswagen sedan crossed the center line into the opposite lane and struck Mr. Miklavic and his passenger, who were thrown from the motorcycle. No information was available on the passenger.

Mr. Miklavic suffered multiple blunt force injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Both Mr. Miklavic and his passenger were wearing helmets. The cause and manner of death will be pending official autopsy and toxicology results. Pennsylvania State Police Greensburg Barracks are investigating the collision.
