ALTOONA, IA : Man arrested after beating driver involved in crash on Wednesday, November 16th 2016

Police in the Des Moines suburb of Altoona have arrested a man they say witnessed a crash, then beat a driver involved in the wreck.

56-year-old Steven Webb, of Pleasant Hill, was arrested Tuesday night.

Police say Webb began hitting a man after, they were told, the man tried to leave the scene of the crash. Officers reported that Webb knocked the man out, and was still punching the man when officers intervened. The beaten man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Webb has been charged with felony willful injury, and his bond set at $10,000.
