Clearcreek Township, Ohio
Speed and no seatbelt are factors in a crash that killed a teenager and hurt two other teens overnight, state troopers said.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Clearcreek Township firefighters responded to Springboro Road near Red Lion-Five Points Road just after 8 p.m. Thursday.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 2013 Honda Accord hit a pole and flipped several times, troopers said in a prepared statement.
The driver was identified as Hosney Mousa, 15, of Centerville.
He lost control of the Honda as he drove it eastbound on Springboro Road, troopers said.
The car ran off the right side of the road, hit a utility pole and flipped several times.
The front seat passenger, Noah Theiss, 17, of Springboro, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the state patrol.
Theiss was a junior at Fenwick High School, according to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. He was not enrolled to return in the fall.
The backseat passenger, Faith Armbuser, 16, of Springboro, and the driver of the Honda were taken to two separate hospitals.
They were treated and and released.
It's not clear where Armbuser and Mousa attended school.
Fenwick's last day of class was Thursday, according to the school's website.
