Saline County ,MO : Marshall teen dies after rollover crash into a creek on Friday ,July 10th 2015

A Marshall teen is dead after the car he was a passenger in overturned into a creek in Saline County Friday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said 16-year-old Carl Girard was a passenger in a SUV when the driver overcorrected causing the 1997 Ford Bronco to overturn into Salt Fork Creek.

The four other passengers were able to get out of the SUV safely but Girard, who was seated in the middle rear seat, could not get out. Flood waters caused the SUV, with Girard in it, to float downstream.

Police looked for the car Friday night but were unable to locate it. They continued their search on Saturday and located the SUV with the teen’s body in it downstream from the site of the crash.
