HAYWARD, CA : 1 dead in ATV crash in the Sawyer County town of Edgewater on Sunday, 15th July 2018

A 31-year-old Onalaska man is dead following an ATV crash in the Sawyer County town of Edgewater.

According to the Sawyer County sheriff’s office:

At 6:20 a.m. the sheriff’s office’s dispatch center received a 911 call reporting an ATV crash that occurred on Maple Terrace Drive, and the caller said the operator appeared to be dead.

Birchwood Ambulance Service personnel arrived first and found the ATV operator, identified as John P. Marshall, was dead. He was not wearing a helmet.

The crash is believed to have occurred a few hours prior to being reported to the sheriff’s office. There are no known witnesses to the crash.

The state Department of Natural Resources is investigating the crash.
