DALLAS COUNTY, IA : 1 dead after semi crashes, catches fire on I-80 on Monday, 16th October 2023

One person died after a semi crashed and caught fire early Monday morning on I-80 in Dallas County.

Emergency responders were called out to a semi fully engulfed in flames around 1:45 a.m. near De Soto.

Sgt. Alex Dinkla with the Iowa State Patrol confirms one person died in the incident. He said the crash happened right at the lane shift. It’s an area where construction has been going on for months.
