Fort Wayne,IN : Car left in flames after accident on September, Saturday 16th 2017

A two-car accident Saturday in DeKalb County left a vehicle engulfed in flames.

According to a news release from the sheriff's department, Janice Tester, 80, of Auburn was driving south on DeKalb County Road 31 in the 5800 block when a northbound compact SUV driven by Lindsay Hirchak, 16, of Auburn went left of the center line, sideswiping her Chevrolet SUV. Hirchak's vehicle then left the road, striking a utility pole before catching on fire.

Tester didn't suffer any injuries, while Hirchak had a laceration to her forehead and burns, according to the release.

The sheriff's department was assisted by DeKalb County EMS, the Jackson Township Fire Department and Indiana State Police.
