Memphis ,TN : 22-year-old Charles Wilcox Jr. and another child killed after Crash along I - 55 on Thursday ,June 11th 2015

A man and a child died in a crash on I-55 at Mound City Road in West Memphis Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say three people in a pickup truck slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler.

Inside the pickup was a man, woman, and baby in a car seat. The man and infant died in the crash. The woman was taken to Regional One.


The man has been identified as 22-year-old Charles Wilcox Jr.

Witnesses say the 18-wheeler came to a stop because of construction ahead.

“It was really bad. It was something I've never seen before,” Larry Griffin said.

Griffin works at Ray's World Famous Bar-B-Que. He heard the crash impact from across the service road. He and his coworker ran to help.
