BOYNTON BEACH, FL : Boynton-area man, 88, dies after two-car crash near library on Monday, 16th March, 2020

An 88-year-old man died in a crash near a library west of Boynton Beach, authorities said Monday.

Julius Bernard Shevlin of suburban Boynton Beach died Friday afternoon on Jog Road, between Gateway and Boynton Beach boulevards and close to the West Boynton branch of the Palm Beach County Library, according to a Palm Beach County sheriff’s report.

Just after noon, Shevlin’s 2008 Toyota Yaris was heading south in the inside line on Jog Road, and as he passed the library entrance, a 2018 Honda Accord pulled out of the library and turned north onto Jog.

In “a violent crash,” the front of the Honda struck the driver’s side of Shevlin’s car, fatally injuring him, the report said.
