SPEARFISH, SD : 2 injured in hit and run crash on Interstate 90 on Sunday, 6th January 2019

Two men escaped serious injuries after the vehicle they were riding in was struck from behind and left mangled on Interstate 90.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, a 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier, traveling west on I-90 experienced vehicle troubles. The driver of the car and his passenger, both 18, pulled over onto the north shoulder about half a mile east of the Whitewood exit.

Tony Mangan, a spokesman for the South Dakota Highway Patrol, said Rand Woelber, 26, of Belle Fourche also was traveling west on the interstate in a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Longhorn pickup when he allegedly struck the Cavalier from behind.
