Colonie, NY : 23-year-old man killed in car crash on Route 9 near Latham Farms on Wednesday October 12, 2016

A 23-year-old man was killed when a car hit him as tried to cross Route 9 near Latham Farms, Colonie police said.
Officers responded at 8:21 p.m. to find the pedestrian, 23-year-old Hannan H. Gilani of Latham, fatally injured after a 2007 Mazda traveling northbound struck him, Traffic Safety Unit Sgt. John O'Donnell said. Gilani appeared to be crossing towards the shopping plaza, O'Donnell said.
The driver, 21-year-old Scott E. Brun from Hudson, Mass., stopped immediately and is cooperating with the on-going investigation, O'Donnell said. Alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as factors in the crash, he said.
