Oldmans Township, NJ : Man dies after 50-pound dumbbell crashes through windshield on NJ highway on Tuesday, January 24th 2017
A New Jersey man died this week after being hit by a dumbbell while driving on the New Jersey Turnpike earlier this month.
Jack DeCarlo, 75, was driving to his vacation home in South Carolina. 9 with his wife when the 50-pound dumbbell broke through his windshield and hit him. DeCarlo's wife was not seriously injured, according to the New York Daily News.
DeCarlo died Tuesday.
Police still don't know where the dumbbell came from, according to The Trentonian. It's possible it flew off a vehicle or was thrown from an overpass.
A state trooper told The Trentonian that the accident is still under investigation.
DeCarlo suffered injuries to his face and was taken to a trauma center in Pennsylvania after the crash.
