Hamilton, N.J : Man, 51, dies in a Hamilton crash early Saturday morning, February 25, 2017

A township man is dead after his vehicle struck a tree, police said.

The crash occurred around 3:05 a.m. Saturday morning on Mason Avenue after a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder that was traveling east on Mason Avenue left the roadway. The vehicle then struck a tree, police said. The driver, identified as Michael Black, 51, of Hamilton was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by Officer Jeff Galant of the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit.
