Marshall, TX : Man killed, 2 others injured in head-on crash in East Texas on Wednesday afternoon, March 16, 2016

A man was killed Wednesday afternoon when the car he was riding in collided head-on with another vehicle.

According to Marshall, Texas police, the wreck happened on Loop 390 north of the intersection with Medco Dr. just after 2:00 p.m.

Preliminary reports suggest that a 2015 Toyota Tundra driven by a 35-year-old man was traveling south on Loop 390 and, according to police, drifted into the northbound lane, striking a tan 2006 Nissan Altima. The Altima was driven by a 29-year-old man who had a 30-year-old female passenger with them.

Police say the driver of the Altima was killed upon impact and his passenger was airlifted to University Health hospital in Shreveport. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The driver of the Tundra was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall. His condition is also unknown at this time.

No names have been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
