Person was killed and another serious injured after a motorcycle struck a tree Friday night at a Millersville campground.

According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, authorities responded to a call of a crash at the Kampgrounds of America campground on the 700 block of Cecil Avenue North around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

After arriving at the location, firefighters found two people at the scene, a female believed to be in her late 60s and a 47-year-old male. The accident is believed to be a single-vehicle crash where the motorcycle hit a tree.

The department said the female was declared dead at the scene while the man was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officials did not identify either of the two victims of the crash in a Saturday press release.
