Yuma, AZ : Man hurt in 3-vehicle collision on 32nd St. on Sunday, 2nd October 2016
A 76-year-old man was set to be flown to a Phoenix-area hospital after being involved in a three-vehicle crash Sunday morning, Yuma police said.
According to a news release from the Yuma Police Department, the accident occurred at about 6:50 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of East 32nd Street and Catalina Drive.
An initial investigation found that a 2003 Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound on 32nd Street and ran a red light at Catalina Drive, police said. The Silverado then collided with a 2002 Chevy Corvette that was traveling northbound on Catalina Drive. The Corvette then crashed with a 2012 Toyota Tundra that was in the left turn lane on 32nd Street facing westbound.
The 76-year- old male was the driver of the corvette, police said. He was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for his injuries. He was in serious condition and was scheduled to be flown to the Phoenix area for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
