CLAY COUNTY, WV : 1 dead after crash sends car into Elk River on Monday, 15th January 2024
A driver was killed on Monday after a crash ended with a vehicle landing in the Elk River, according to 911 dispatchers.
The crash happened around 1:10 p.m. near the Clay, Kanawha County line on Monday around the Camp Creek Bridge.
The driver from Clay County was killed in the crash, according to Sheriff Allen King. A passenger refused treatment, according to officials.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police, Clay County Fire Department, Clay County EMS, and Station one from the Clendenin Fire Department have responded to the scene.
