Chaplin, CT : Man dead and another injured after crashing their motorcycles in eastern Connecticut on Monday September 1st 2014
Police say a man killed and another injured after crashing their motorcycles in eastern Connecticut were residents of Rhode Island.
Connecticut State Police say 43-year-old Anthony Perfetto of Johnston died after his motorcycle struck a guardrail and traffic sign Monday on Route 6 in Chaplin.
Troopers say 37-year-old Jerry Nassi of Providence was seriously injured and flown to a hospital in Hartford.
Authorities say the two men were seen driving their motorcycles at high rates of speed on Route 6 westbound.
Troopers say both men lost control of their bikes while trying to stop for other vehicles and a red light at the intersection of Route 198.
Police say both men were thrown from their motorcycles after driving into the shoulder and crashing.
The accident remains under investigation.
