Cumberland County, PA : Motorcyclist killed in South Jersey crash on Saturday, 13th March 2021

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday morning in a crash in Cumberland County, a New Jersey State Police spokesman said.

The single-vehicle wreck occurred around 6:40 a.m. in Lawrence Township, according to Sgt. First Class Lawrence Peele. A motorcycle was headed north on Shaffer Avenue when it ran off the road and struck a tree, he said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Peele said. Authorities closed the roadway for about three hours. An investigation was continuing.

Police did not immediately release the name of the motorcyclist.
