LENOIR, NC : On-duty deputy injured in Caldwell crash on Monday, 9th April 2018
A Caldwell County Sheriff Office deputy is in stable condition at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte after crashing his patrol vehicle Monday night.
Deputy Mark Noble was attempting to locate a suspect on Playmore Beach Road in Caldwell County when the accident happened, said LouAnne Kincaid, Caldwell County public information officer. Kincaid said Noble lost control of the 2014 Ford Explorer patrol vehicle at approximately 11:35 p.m. while driving on a gravel portion of Playmore Beach Road. The vehicle went down an embankment and struck a tree, and is considered a total loss, she said.
Kincaid said Noble sustained arm and head injuries in the crash, and was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center. Noble has been with the Caldwell County Sheriff Office for less than a year, and was formerly with the Lenoir Police Department, Kincaid said.
