Johnstown, PA : A Clearville woman died in a one-car crash in Monroe Township on Sunday, September 10, 2017

A Clearville woman died Sunday in a one-car crash in Monroe Township, Bedford County, state police in Bedford said.

The crash occurred after Joyce L. Miller, 77, crossed the double-yellow line on Black Valley Road, continued off the roadside and then struck a tree, state police said.

The crash impact caused damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle that caused fatal lacerations to Miller, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, Trooper Luke Hoover wrote in a news release.

Miller was taken to UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital for treatment but was

pronounced dead in the

emergency room, Bedford County Coroner Russell Styer said.

The manner of death was ruled accidental, Styer added.
