PITTSFIELD, MA : 2 injured in Pittsfield wreck on Thursday, 13th June 2019

Two men were hospitalized Thursday morning after their cars collided at the intersection of Tyler and First streets. Police and rescuers responded to the intersection around 11:30 a.m. The drivers of a white BMW and blue Honda Civic were taken to Berkshire Medical Center, according to Pittsfield Police Lt. Thomas Dawley. Neither men suffered injuries that appeared to be serious, he said. Witnesses told police that the BMW was making a left onto Tyler Street from First Street. The Civic, which had been traveling southbound on Tyler Street in the center turning lane, went straight instead and collided with the BMW, Dawley said. The Civic was traveling "very fast," he said. "From what they're saying speed was a factor." Both cars sustained serious damage, and police redirected traffic away from the wreck.
