LAKE ALFRED, FL : Haines City motorcyclist killed in crash at I-4 ramp on Saturday, November 12th 2016

A 22-year-old Haines City man died Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a motor home pulling a trailer as it turned left across County Road 557 onto the ramp to Interstate 4.

Kristen Pierre was declared dead at the scene.

According to a report from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Cummings, 67, of Rock Falls, Ill., was driving a 1988 Cobra motorhome pulling a trailer when, about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, he made the left turn from the northbound lane of CR 557 onto the I-4 ramp.

Pierre was on a 2005 Kawaski, headed south on CR 557. The motorcycle hit the trailer tongue, disconnecting the trailer from the motor home.

Pierre was wearing a helmet. Cummings, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
