ROCHESTER, NH :Man struck, killed while trying to retrieve fallen grill on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016

A 72-year-old New Hampshire man has been struck and killed while trying to retrieve a gas grill that had fallen out of the back of his pickup truck and onto the roadway.

State police say Kenneth Long, of Sanbornville, was struck Tuesday evening on Route 16 in Rochester.

Authorities say a car driven by 51-year-old Eric Grabowski, of Middleton, was traveling north onto Route 16 from an Exit 16 on-ramp when his vehicle struck Long.

Long was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police say Grabowski was arrested for driving under the influence.

The crash remains under investigation.
