Erie,PA : Two killed in Ashtabula County crash on March, Thursday 22nd 2018

A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck killed two men in Ashtabula County, Ohio, on Thursday night.

The Ohio Highway Patrol was continuing its investigation Friday morning into the crash, which happened at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 7 in Richmond Township shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to troopers, a 2000 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by 61-year-old William J. Rounds, of Waterville, New York, was traveling South on Route 7 when a 2005 GMC Sierra driven by 46-year-old Clifford T. Miller, of Wellsville, Ohio, failed to yield to a stop sign while traveling west on Route 6. The vehicles collided, traveled off the west side of Route 6, struck a ditch and rolled over. The GMC caught fire, troopers reported.

Rounds and Miller were both pronounced dead at the scene.
