WILLIMANTIC, CT : 5 hospitalized in dump truck crash on Route 66 on Monday, 3rd June 2024

Five people were injured in a crash that involved a dump truck on Route 66 in Willimantic Monday afternoon.

Police said it happened on Columbia Avenue (Route 66) near the Valero gas station and intersection with Route 32.

Officers on scene told Eyewitness News that the area was expected to be shut down for the next 8-10 hours at the time.

Five people are in the hospital because of the crash, said police. Some have serious injuries.
