Dothan man dies in accident near Jackson,Mississippi

A Dothan man was killed in a four-vehicle crash in Jackson County Wednesday evening.Alan F. Vasquez, 49, was pronounced dead at Southeast Alabama Medical Center some unspecified time after the crash.

According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, Vasquez was northbound on State Road 73 when he approached stopped traffic at the intersection of Lancer Road and SR 73. According to the report, Vasquez at first “failed to observe” the traffic stopped ahead, but then attempted and failed to stop. The van he was driving struck the back of a truck driven by Lilburn, Ga., resident Zackery S. Bialkowski, 20.

The van driven by Vasquez then spun, rolled onto its right side and came to rest in a ditch on the east side of the road.The truck spun and collided with the left side of a Lincoln Town Car driven by Ozark, Ala., resident Roy Crowley, 58.The truck also hit the back of a Toyota Camry driven by Marianna resident Ellaretha Clemmons, 61.Crowley, Bialkowski and Clemmons were listed has having minor injuries.
