Austin, TX : Man dies after crash on I-35 service road near St. Edward’s University on Friday, August 19, 2016

A man is dead after the pickup truck he was traveling in crashed into a pole on the northbound service road of Interstate 35 in South Austin, Austin-Travis County EMS officials said Friday night.

The man is estimated to have been in his 30s, EMS officials said. Multiple agencies responded at 8:23 p.m. to the crash, which happened by St. Edward’s University. The man was the only person inside the Chevy pickup truck and no other vehicles were involved, Austin police officials said.

Northbound traffic is backing up on the service road.
