HAVRE, MT : Man driving stolen pickup truck dies in crash during pursuit on U.S. Highway 2 on Tuesday, 27th November 2018
An 18-year-old Box Elder man driving a stolen pickup truck died of injuries suffered in a rollover crash while fleeing from a northern Montana sheriff’s deputy.
Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Jason Wickum tells KOJM-AM that Blaine County deputies were pursuing the stolen truck westbound on U.S. Highway 2 east of Chinook at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The pickup turned north onto a dirt road and traveled about two miles before crashing.
The Great Falls Tribune reports the man was taken to the hospital in Havre and then Great Falls, where he died of his injuries. His name hasn’t been released.
