A Salt Lake City man died Monday after a crash on Interstate 15 near Murray, police say.
Lynn D. Noren, 77, was taken to Intermountain Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead after crashing his car into a truck on the freeway near 4800 South at about 2:30 p.m., a Utah Highway Patrol news release said.
The truck had was stopped on the right shoulder of the northbound lanes with a flat tire, then Noren's car drifted to the right and collided with the truck, according to Sgt. Todd Royce.
Noren, who was driving the car, was not wearing a seat belt, the news release said.
The truck's 35-year-old male passenger, who was inside the vehicle with the driver during the crash, was taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, and the 30-year-old male driver was not injured, the release said.
Investigators found no signs of braking or evasive maneuvers.
