Norfolk, VA : Woman hospitalized with serious injuries after crash in Virginia Beach on Thursday, September 1, 2016

A woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries Thursday after a single-vehicle crash.

Police said the crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. at 1075 General Booth Blvd. The 25-year-old woman was traveling northbound when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree in the center median. The driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Police said as a result of the crash, northbound General Booth Boulevard is closed at Oceana Boulevard. Traffic is being re-routed onto Prosperity Road.
