Springfield, IL : Woman charged with driving under the influence after traffic collision on Saturday, January 14th 2017
A 39-year-old Skokie resident was taken to the hospital Saturday after her car flipped in a traffic collision.
The woman was driving west on Central Street at about 5:05 p.m. when she made a left-hand turn onto Crawford Street. She then collided with another vehicle traveling eastbound, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. The impact caused the woman’s car to roll over, and she was taken to Evanston Hospital after complaints of pain in her neck, Dugan said.
The woman displayed signs of intoxication and officers found an open bottle of alcohol in her car, Dugan said.
The woman was charged with driving under the influence, and received citations for open alcohol, no proof of insurance and failure to yield on a left turn, Dugan said.
