Paducah, KY : Calloway wreck kills 1, injures 2 on April, Tuesday 11th 2017

A two-vehicle wreck Tuesday in Calloway County left one woman dead and two people injured.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, Lashanda N. Scott, 31, of Murray, was driving east on Ky. 121 when she crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Aleta J. Beane, 79, also of Murray.

Deputies said the impact caused both vehicles to cross the highway's eastbound lane and drive off the road.

Deputies said Scott and her juvenile daughter were trapped in their vehicle and had to be freed by mechanical means.

Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her daughter was taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

Beane was taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. She was later taken to a Nashville, Tennessee, hospital for further treatment.
