Upper Pottsgrove, PA : Pottstown man killed in a motorcycle accident in Upper Pottsgrove Township on Saturday evening, April 16, 2016

A Pottstown man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Upper Pottsgrove Township Saturday evening.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 31-year-old Bret Hansley, of Pottstown. His family has been notified.

The crash happened along the 1800 block of Gilbertsville Road around 6 p.m., according to reports from the scene. Authorities say Hansley clipped a telephone pole and a tree before he was thrown from the bike and landing in the front yard of a home. Gilbertsville Ambulance rushed Hansley to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No one else was hurt in the crash. Police are still investigating the incident. Upper Pottsgrove and West End Fire Company assisted at the scene.
