Yolo County,CA : 1 dead in solo vehicle crash in rural Yolo County on Tuesday, 12th May, 2020

A Lake County resident has died as the result of a single vehicle crash in the Capay Valley.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol Woodland Area unit were dispatched to the scene at State Route 16 east of County Road 57 just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

“Upon the Officers arrival, it was determined a solo vehicle collision occurred which resulted in a fatality,” a CHP report states. “Following a preliminary investigation, it was determined a Honda was traveling westbound on State Route 16, east of County Road 57. For an unknown reason the solo occupant, the driver, left the roadway and collided with a tree. As a result of the collision the driver succumbed to the injuries, they sustained at the collision scene.”

It wasn’t immediately known if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash.
