Charlotte, N.C : Driver hit 8-year-old in east Charlotte crash Monday, June 30, 2014

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives are looking for a driver in a hit-and-run Monday after the vehicle struck a child.At about 5:50 p.m., an 8-year-old boy was riding his bicycle on the 6200 block of Idlebrook Drive when he was struck.The vehicle drove away traveling southwest on Idlebrook.The boy was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.Witnesses described the vehicle as a white Ford Expedition SUV with black bumpers.There should be damage to the front right bumper and quarter panel, police said.
