Charlotte , NC : One person killed after a hit-and-run collision after his vehicle rear ended and moped on Saturday night, March 28th 2015

One person is dead after a hit-and-run collision involving a moped Saturday night, Medic said.

Police said a vehicle driven by James Lesage rear-ended a moped in the 6400 block of South Boulevard.
The impact of the hit forced the man on the moped, Angel Cruz, into the opposite lane where he crashed into an oncoming car.

Cruz died at the scene, officials said.

Police said Lesage drove off after the accident.

A witness told police Lesage’s license plate number, and they arrested him at his home.

Lesage is charged with DWI, hit and run and felony death by vehicle.
