A Findlay motorcyclist was injured when he collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Allen Township 142 and Township 109, southwest of Van Buren, about 1:25 p.m. Friday, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Christopher Conley, 38, was initially taken by Hanco Emergency Medical Service to Blanchard Valley Hospital and was later flown by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, where he was being evaluated late Friday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said. He was to be admitted, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Leeth reported that Zachary Orians, 23, of Rawson, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet pickup south on Allen Township 142, approaching Township 109. He stopped at a stop sign and then continued into the intersection, Leeth said. Conley, driving a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Township 109, was unable to stop and collided with the truck.

Orians and two passengers in the truck, Destinee Hoop, age unknown, and a 7-month-old boy, were not injured, Leeth said.

Assisting at the accident scene were the Allen Township Fire Department and Dick’s Towing.

The accident remains under investigation.
