York,SC : Driver killed in crash on I-77 in Rock Hill on August, Tuesday 1st 2017

A person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-77 in Rock Hill Tuesday afternoon, according to troopers.

The wreck happened at 4:54 p.m. on northbound I-77 near mile marker 79. Troopers say a 1999 Buick passenger car ran off the right side of the road, hit a guard rail, went down an embankment, then struck a tree.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released.

Troopers say the crash is still under investigation.
