CLINTON, MS : Hit-and-run crash under investigation at 372nd Avenue and 120th Street on Monday, 5th August 2019
Law enforcement officials are investigating a hit-and-run crash in rural Clinton that occurred late Monday afternoon.
Clinton County Sheriff's Office records indicate that a deputy was dispatched to a crash scene at 372nd Avenue and 120th Street, in which a driver indicated he was traveling east on 120th Street and that after a few vehicles had passed, it was difficult to see due to gravel road dust.
The driver indicated that as he drove through the dust, he collided with an unknown object. The accident disabled his vehicle and pushed him into the hill on the north side of the roadway. The driver said the other vehicle didn't stay on scene and took off, the report said. There was no description of the suspect's vehicle.
Looking over the accident scene, the deputy reported that he could see where the accident had taken place on the road. It appeared that by the markings, the reporting driver was on his side of the road and the suspect vehicle that took off failed to maintain half of the roadway, creating the accident.
