BRIDGEWATER, VT : Bridgewater crash kills Vermont man on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016

Vermont State Police have released the name of the man killed in a crash on icy roads Tuesday.

Robert Ammel Junior, 62, of Hartford, was headed west on Route 4 in Bridgewater Tuesday morning just as the road was being coated with freezing rain.

Police say a car in front of Ammel lost control and slid into the other lane. An oncoming tractor-trailer then swerved left to avoid that vehicle and collided head-on with Ammel's pickup.

Ammel was pronounced dead at the scene.
