Lafourche Parish ,LA :Tyler Thibodeaux, 27, injured after he ejected from bike and hit by SUV on Friday morning , August 28th 2015

A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after he was ejected from the bike and hit by an SUV this morning on Bayou Blue Road in Lafourche Parish, State Police said.

Tyler Thibodeaux, 27, of Houma, was riding a 2007 Suzuki north when he hit the back of a 2010 Chevrolet pickup driven by Mark Dufrene, 59, of Raceland, Trooper First Class Evan Harrell said. The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m.

Harrell said Dufrene had stopped to turn into a driveway when Thibodeaux failed to make a safe stop and locked up his brakes. He was ejected into the southbound lane and hit by a 2012 Dodge Journey driven by Bonnie Bourgeois, 33, of Bayou Blue.

Thibodeaux's helmet had become unsecured in the crash, Harrell said. He was taken to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center before being transported to University Hospital in New Orleans.
