Salt Lake City, UT : Driver dead in University of Utah shuttle bus crash near Fort Douglas and Research Park on Saturday morning, January 2, 2016

The driver of a University of Utah medical shuttle bus was killed in a crash Saturday morning.

Officials believe the driver, 72-year-old James Lamb, likely experienced some kind of medical condition and crashed into a wall near Fort Douglas and Research Park. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, said University of Utah Communications Director Maria O'Mara.

"It appeared to be a very slow speed impact," she said, adding there was minimal damage to the bus and to the wall.

O'Mara said the bus was being moved for cleaning. No passengers were on the bus at the time and no one else was injured in the accident.
