HOPKINSVILLE, KY : High-speed pursuit ends in crash in Hopkinsville on Sunday, 6th October 2024

A man is facing charges after leading police on a high-speed pursuit and crashing into another vehicle on Sunday night in Hopkinsville.

According to a report by WKDZ, Kentucky State Police troopers attempted to pull over a car speeding on I-24 but the car failed to stop and fled near Pennyrile Parkway. The troopers pursued the car and reached speeds over 130 mph before the car exited onto Pembroke Road, WKDZ reported.

The pursuit when the car crashed into an SUV on Pembroke Road, reportedly overturning the SUV several times, according to WKDZ. The driver of the SUV was injured and transported to Jennie Stuart Health. The driver of the car involved in the pursuit was also injured and taken by troopers to the hospital.

Charges were pending against the driver involved in the pursuit after being released from the hospital.
