ARENAC COUNTY, MI : Corvette driver dies after crash with semi-truck on U.S. 23 on Thursday, 16th November 2023

A man driving a Corvette died after a head-on crash with a semi-truck on U.S. 23 in northern Arenac County.

The Arenac County Sheriff's Office says a Freeland man, who was not identified, was driving the Corvette north on U.S. 23 near Hammel Beach Road in Whitney Township around 8 a.m., when he lost control.

Investigators believe the driver, who was not identified, hit a wet patch of pavement, swerved abruptly into the southbound lane and hit the semi-truck head on.

The man driving the Corvette, who was traveling alone, died from his injuries while the semi-truck driver was not injured.
