Four people were injured after a car crashed into a North Carolina hospital's emergency department early Thursday morning.

The crash took place around 1:30 a.m. at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, WITN reported. The injuries ranged from minor to serious, and two people were still being treated at the hospital as of mid-Thursday morning.

The injured included the driver and three people in the lobby. About 20 people were waiting in the lobby at the time of the collision.

The driver was heading to the hospital when he lost control of his Kia car likely due to a medical condition, Greenville police said. Hospital officials estimated the car was going 50 mph when it hit the building.

The car went through barricades and over a median before hitting the building, emergency officials said.
