Tuscaloosa, AL : Northport couple killed in Marengo County crash on Wednesday, 16th May 2018

A Northport couple was killed in a crash while driving through Marengo County Wednesday morning.

Sarah Lyrene, 70, and Edward Charles Lyrene, 75, were both killed in the crash with a tractor trailer on Alabama Highway 25, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Sarah Lyrene was driving a 2014 Honda Accord that collided with the truck at 11:18 a.m., about file miles west of Uniontown. The truck driver wasn’t injured.

Troopers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Lyrenes were married in Tuscaloosa County 48 years ago, in 1970.
